Author’s Note: Hopefully, this NaNoWriMo exercise will force me to finish this and the readers that do read it enjoy it. Comment please. Constructive criticism and/or lavish praise is always appreciated. I really have nothing for this part today.
Frustration was becoming an adamant emotion from Lanya. They threw her in a life size tube of water where she would never be able to get back to her human appearance and she was naked. She didn’t understand why they bothered considering it would use the ship’s water supply or so she thought. She looked around her and tried not to shudder. She was surrounded by various life size tubes that had different, almost human looking, entities inside them. Although it seemed like she was the only one awake. The entities that surrounded her had various different colors and were also naked. She couldn’t tell what sex the creatures were but they all looked muscular and fit to her.
‘What the suka?’ she thought.
The double doors in her direct line of sight opened and the Captain walked in. Lanya suppressed the urge to gulp. He stopped in front of her tube, arms crossed over his chest.
“I don’t imagine you have the ability to speak, Jitokan,” the captain said “So you just have to nod your head once for yes and shake your head once for no. Do you understand that?”
Lanya nodded her head once. Her purple skin glistened in the water of her tube.
“I’m giving you an assignment, Jitokan,” the captain said.
‘He can’t be serious,’ she thought.
“We will be landing on Planet Neyo in three days’ time. You kill someone for us, and you have your freedom. That is of course, after we wipe your memories of this place.”
Lanya continued to stare at him. Kill someone? She had never killed anyone in her life! She didn’t want to start either. No way.
“You will be dispatched on an Apis’ ship. You only have yourself to blame for this. Or possibly Aeryin.”
‘Yarou!’ Lanya thought.
“If you fail to complete your ‘assignment’ you will be terminated. Do you understand?”
Lanya nodded. Horror struck her. This man was sick. How the suka was he even military? Did military people do this? Her wife Aeryin wasn’t like this at all.
“By this time, you will need to know who we want dead.”
Lanya nodded again. Fear attacked her but she held her panic in check, best she could.
“Our intelligence tells us Aeryin Crow is on this ship. You dispose of her and you finally have your freedom.”
Lanya gulped. She hit her hands on the tube she was in and shook her head vigorously.
‘Baka!’ Lanya thought as she continued shaking her purple head.
“You will do as we command. If you want your life, you will do it. I told you again and again that woman isn’t worth much.”
Lanya continued to shake her head. This made absolutely no sense to her. A prisoner this whole time, and they knew where Aeryin was all along? This was too much. There was no rational in any of it. If Aeryin was not worth so much to them, why keep her there? Why bother searching for her?
“The clock is ticking, Lanya,” the captain said and walked back out the sliding double doors.
Lanya looked at the double doors in frustration. She placed her webbed hands on the walls of her water tube and pushed. She floated backward and then with all her might slammed her body weight against the tube. It didn’t even budge. After trying this a few more times, she stopped, defeated. There was nothing left to do now but wait.
